Thousand years ago, first grapes were harvested from naturally developed vines in the wilderness. Several of our vinifera vines originate from natural seedlings with no known history.

Vine is subject to sporadic mutation. Vitis vinifera was more rustic prior to being domesticated and moved to warmer zones
