         I began my research work in 1983, in the hardiness zone 4a, by studying hybrid vines and Vinifera, which was possible to cultivate in the northern region, without winter protection. High quality seedlings were obtained during this period, as well as the first Vinifera grape variety obtained by natural mutation of the Vinifera grape variety ''Gewurztraminer ''.

          It was in 1996 that i began planting a plot of Vinifera grape varieties to start my hybridization program, the objective of which was to create Vinifera grape varieties that were early maturing and hardy, without winter protection, maturing between 900 and 1050 degree days.

          These new authentic Vinifera grape varieties are the result of an hybridization program, which began  25 years ago and uses the unique process of ancestral memory triggered by conditions where seedlings are exposed to induced environmental stress during their first two years of natural selection, before being planted in the monitoring plot for the viticultural and organoleptic qualitative evaluation, with a minimum duration of 15 years. Several pure Vinifera grape varieties have already been obtained and meet the viticultural requirements.

             

          My work in improving the vines has allowed to create the first grape varieties(100%) Vinifera, of a precocity and rusticity unequalled by the Vinifera grape varieties grown around the world,with all the organoleptic quality recognized as unique to the Vitis Vinifera species. These new grape varieties do not require winter protection with geotextile fabric.
