This grape variety is the result of a direct cross with the vinifera Chenin blanc grape variety. It has a late bud burst, which helps avoid late frosts in spring. Presence of fertile latent buds on the vine. It ripens in early October, in hardiness zone 4a. It ripens in mid-September in zone 5. Vigorous and very productive grape variety. A grape with a fruity, lively, light, and fragrant taste. It can be used to make different types of wines as well as ice wine. It allows the production of excellent sparkling, vinous wines with fruity aromas and an optimal level of natural acidity. It is a grape that works well in the press, and the juice does not oxidize. A hardy grape variety that does not require any winter protection. The skin of the berries is resistant to autumn frosts (-3 degrees Celsius).

Juneau blanc
Nouveau cépage : Juneau blanc

This grape variety is the result of a direct cross with the vinifera Chenin blanc grape variety. It has a semi-late budding, an upright habit, with average vigor and high fertility. It ripens too late in the north of zone 4b. The bunch is of average size, conical in shape with one or two fins, moderately compact, similar to the Chenin blanc bunch. The berry is of average size, elliptical in shape and has a thick skin, protecting it from diseases and late frosts (-3 degrees Celsius). Very high resistance to black rot and gray rot. Golden yellow grape color when ripe, with a fruity, vinous and very juicy taste, containing very few small seeds. It produces an aromatic, honeyed wine, with a very typical Chenin blanc nose and allows the production of sparkling wines, as well as an ice wine. A hardy grape variety requiring no winter protection. It can be trained on different trellising systems.

 Juneaudor précoce
Nouveau cépage : Juneaudor précoce

This grape variety is a natural seedling of the cross with the vinifera Carmine grape variety (which contains the genes of Sauvignon blanc). It stands out from all known grape varieties, by the extremely early maturity of its grapes. It ripens in early September in zone 4a, less than 900 DJ(10). It can obtain up to 4 bunches per main bud, and have fertility present on the latent buds. Vigorous and very productive grape variety. It is the first grape variety harvested in season in the vineyard and the harvests can be spread over 3 weeks (selective harvests). The grape clusters are golden yellow when ripe, attracting the eye in the vineyard. The wines produced have fruity aromas of the Sauvignon vinifera grape variety, with lower acidity. No taste of riparia and does not contain any Labrusca gene. Possibility of the presence of berry rot observed at the end of maturity. Rustic grape variety requiring no winter protection. It can be trained on different trellising systems.

Gewurztraminer RJ  

   First rustic    vinifera variety

Nouveau Vinifera Rustique : Gewurztraminer RJ

It originates from a natural mutation of the vinifera Gewurztraminer clone 47 grape variety. This first Vitis vinifera grape variety of my improvement program is more rustic and earlier than all known vinifera grape varieties. It has a late bud burst like the Chenibec grape variety and a maturity in the middle of October in zone 4a. Vigorous and very productive grape variety. The grape when ripe is pink-purple in color, sweet, with aromas: exotic, honey, apple, and slightly muscat. The grape has a thick skin resistant to autumn frosts of -3 degrees Celsius. It produces dry white wines, with aromas of lychee, white flowers and slightly muscat. A pink wine can be obtained by skin fermentation, as well as an ice wine (icewine method). Rustic grape variety requiring no winter protection. The grape clusters remain on the vine in winter.
